DISCOVER THE THRILL OF PROSPECTING AND STRIKE IT RICH!

Players: 03-06 | Age Limit: 8-99 | Play Time: 20-30

How To Play:

Players take on the roles of prospectors, each aiming to gather the most valuable ore and avoid explosive missteps. The stakes are high, and the cards are your tools for mining riches!

  • Ore Cards: Follow the lead ore type if possible, or play a special card.
  • Special Cards: Special cards can be played at any time, even if you have a matching ore card.
  • Winning a Trick: Bandit cards always win, followed by the highest Trump card, or the highest ore card if no Bandits or Trumps are played. Dynamite cards cancel the trick entirely.
  • End of Round: After all tricks are played, tally points based on the cards won. The prospector with the most points selects the objective for the next round and leads the next play.

Will you strike it rich, or will you be left with nothing but dust and dynamite? The gold rush awaits!

This is a great game for the entire family! Not too hard for the younger ones but fast paced enough to keep everyone interested and involved. We really enjoyed playing this together!

What a fun game! Our favorite card is the dynamite card- changes the whole direction of the game in one hand. Takes about 20- 30 minutes to play so appeals to our non- game playing family members. Instructions say you should be 8 years old to play but our 6 year old just beat us all. We’ve also played with 7 players.

Loved playing this game. The graphics are cool. Easy to learn and pretty fast paced. Great for fun with friends and family. I would recommend it!

  4. Brett

Very fun game for the family.

We had a lot of fun playing this on Sunday night with our daughter. It is a beautiful game and a great combination of strategy and luck. We all decided we would definitely like to play again. It is nice that it is easy to learn and the play time is not too long. It makes it an easy game to just pick up and play anytime.

Let me just say this: Prospector has absolutely no business being this intense for a game that can be played by an 8-year-old and someone’s 92-year-old grandpa.

We brought this out thinking it would be a “casual little card game.” It was not casual. It was psychological warfare with mining equipment.
You’re sitting there calmly playing an ore card like a responsible adult and then—BOOM—someone drops a Bandit and steals the trick like they’ve been training for this moment their entire life. And just when you think you’ve calculated the play perfectly, someone throws Dynamite and cancels the whole thing. Absolute chaos. I respect it.

The strategy is sneaky good. You can follow suit like a gentleman prospector… or you can play a special card at any time and watch the table implode. The fact that the round winner gets to pick the next objective adds just enough power shift to make you question your friendships.

It’s easy to learn, fast to play, and somehow manages to be lighthearted while still making you say things like, “You had that Bandit the whole time? Unbelievable.” Prospector is the rare game that feels simple at first and then slowly reveals that you are, in fact, not as strategic as you thought you were.

Five stars. Would absolutely get blown up by Dynamite again.
